College of Convergence Engineering

College of Electrical and Electronic Computers

The College of Electrical and Electronic Computers was newly established in 2017 by combining the Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Convergence Electronic Engineering, and the Department of Computer Science in the College of ICT Convergence.

The Department of Electrical Engineering provides specialized education in energy analysis and power transmission and distribution to nurture convergence technology professionals to lead the new future energy industry, while the Department of Convergence Electronic Engineering provides a specialized education on embedded and intelligence robots to cultivate to nurture convergence technology professionals that can encompass hardware and software in ICT. Finally, the Department of Computer Science provides specialized education in platform software, applied software, information/network/security to nurture human resources necessary in the software industry of ICT field. To do so, this college has a theoretical curriculum to learn the basic knowledge of each major as well as an experimental and practical curriculum to internally consolidate the acquired knowledge, while providing advanced, intensive courses along with project-based classes for analyzing and solving realistic problems to students who seek to enter graduate school.

The graduates of this college can work in various electrical and electronic computer-based fields upon successful completion of the program.

Department of Electrical Engineering

The Department of Electrical Engineering is devoting all of its resources and energy to cultivate convergent and customized technology and engineering experts, leaders of the future energy environment, and the experts of energy analysis and power systems, under its vision of ‘Developing convergent technology and engineering experts to lead the new future energy industry’. To nurture integrated engineers specialized in both the theories and practice of hardware (H/W) and software (S/W) by differentiating itself from the Department of Electrical Engineering in other universities, this Department aims to provide specialized education in the main CDR field such as a new power transmission and distribution technology, smart power facility, new and renewable energy, energy management solutions, etc.

Department of Convergence Electronic Engineering

The 21st century is requiring more human resources who have convergent thinking in hardware and software.

The Department of Electronic Engineering aims to cultivate convergent human resources who can encompass both hardware and software, as a core academic field of the ICT industry.

To do so, this Department educates its students on basic and applied academics on embedded ICT devices, IoT, drone theories, bipedalism, computer vision, deep learning, and intelligence robots, which are the core of an embedded and super connected society. Especially, our Department has strengthened the industry-academy connected program to cultivate practical human resources and runs a curriculum based on the national occupational standard.

Due to the nature of its academics, it is easy for students in the College of Electrical and Electronic Computer to pursue a cross-listed major or double major with other majors, and can enter various occupations upon graduation such as large companies including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, LSIS, Korea Aerospace Industries, Hyundai/KIA Motor, etc. as well as domestic or overseas venture and medium-sized companies.

Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science has developed into the current department originated from the Department of Electronic Calculation and the Department of Information Processing which were founded in 1993. Based on this, students will gain various kinds of knowledge and experiences needed for software development and the applied software field by focusing on the Internet of Things (IoT).

To raise the necessary competent human resources needed in the software industry which is becoming more important, the curriculum of this Department solidifies its academics through experiments and practicums of basic technology on software development, provides major courses in various fields, and offers practical experiences through projects to converge and apply them.

Thus, upon the successful completion of this program, graduates of the Department can work in various ICT convergence and applied software development fields.
