중요한 수학적 대상의 하나인 환의 구조를 연구함을 목적으로 한다. 여러 종류의 환을 예시하고 그 중 여러 분야에서 중요하게 취급되는 다항식 환의 구조와 성질을 집중적으로 살펴본다. 정수론적으로 증명되었던 Euler와 Fermat 정리를 환의 개념과 연관지어 재조명한다. 군에서와 마찬가지로 새로운 환을 제공해 주는 이데알, 소이데알, 극대이데알 등에 대하여 알아보고 또한 환준동형함수, 환동형함수의 개념을 이해한다. 마지막으로 정역 중에서 특히 많이 취급되는 유일분해정역, 주이데알정역 그리고 유클리드정역 등을 소개한다.
교과목해설(영문)
We try to understand the structure of an important mathematical object, ring. Various examples of rings are displayed and a special example is focused. Polynomial rings which has extensive application in other areas are thoroughly investigated. Integer theoretical proofs of Euler, Fermat theorems get alternative ring theoretical proofs. Ideal, Prime ideal and maximal ideals which provide new rings are investigated in the same context of groups. Also ring homomorphism, isomorphism are introduced. Finally, we study frequently mentioned integral domains, among them, Unique Factorization Domains, Principal Ideal Domains and Euclidean Domains.
