자산과 부채의 구조, 금융과 경제성장간 관계, 금리의 결정방법 등 금융의 기초이론에 대해 이해하고, 단기금융시장(money market), 자본시장(capital market), 채권.외환.스왑시장의 작동원리, 상업은행, 투자은행, 비은행 금융중개(Non-bank Financial Intermediation) 등 다양한 금융기관의 기능에 대해서도 배운다.

Students can understand basic theories of finance, such as the structure of assets and liabilities, the relationship between finance and economic growth, and how to determine interest rates. Students will also learn about the operations of money market, capital market, bond & foreign exchange and swap markets, together with the functions of various financial institutions such as commercial banking, investment banking, and non-bank financial intermediation.
