아프리카 대륙을 중심으로 자연환경과 인문환경 간의 상호작용을 통해 형성된 고유한 지역성을 파악하고. 인도주의적, 정치외교적, 경제적 동기로 이루어지는 개발협력의 사례를 살펴봄으로써 바람직한 지역개발 방안을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특히 문화권에 따라 사하라 이남 아프리카와 북아프리카로 구분하여 자원, 식민지 역사, 종족, 종교 등에 의해 발생한 다양한 지역 분쟁의 원인을 파악하고 그 해결책으로서 개발협력 과제의 역할을 모색해 본다.
교과목해설(영문)
In this course, students are expected to understand the unique regional characteristics of Africa by examining the interactions between human and physical environmental factors as well as to make plans for regional development and cooperation for Arica. As African continent is largely subdivided into Sub-Saharan and Northern Africa on the basis of cultural realms, the subjects focus on the causes of the regional conflicts in these parts of Africa and solutions to them.
