교육의 역사에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 학교교육의 기원과 전개과정을 고찰함으로써 학교 및 학교교육의 목적과 발전과정의 역사적 흐름을 이해한다. 학교교육의 역사를 통해 현대 학교에서의 다양한 교육실천 및 문제점은 물론 학교교육과 사회의 관계에 대해서도 고찰한다.
교과목해설(영문)
This course examines the development of History of School Education from ancient to the present. It aims to help students understand the origins of contemporary educational practices and problems in school education. The class will explore four major topics: (1) changes in the purpose of school education; (2) the development of diverse types of institutions; (3) the growth and limitation of access to higher education; (4) the relation of school education to the larger society.
