Hokuriku University(HK) in Japan is recruiting students who would be interested in studying the Japanese language and culture at Hokuriku University for 1-year starting in March 2023 and finishing in February 2024. HK has received funding from the Japanese government (JASSO) to support this program.
The students wouldn't need to pay HU tuition fees (760,000 yen/year) and would receive a JASSO scholarship of 80,000 yen/month for 12 months. Students would just need to pay return airfare and living costs.
Students would study the Japanese language and culture within our Japanese language course. It is a 1-year program. More information about this particular course can be found here:
https://iec.hokuriku-u.ac.jp/en/25.html
HU will help students to find an apartment to live in and rent can vary between 25,000 ~ 35,000 yen/month plus utilities (gas, electricity, water). The majority of apartments are furnished with a bed base, desk/chair, fridge, microwave oven and washing machine. Free wi-fi is also usually included.
As the JASSO scholarship is for this financial year (FY2022), students would have to arrive into Japan before the end of March 2023. The Japanese language course starts in the beginning of April and ends at the end of January or early February 2024.
There are two semesters: April to August and September to February.
The student must complete the 1-year course and receive a Certificate of Completion. In order to do this, the student would need to receive a minimum of 30-credits (15-credits per semester) over the 1-year.
