Welcome to the freshmen in the year of the 23rd grade. You might be excited to start college and worried about your school life at the same time. I would like to introduce you to the restaurants around the school to help you decide on your lunch menu, based on the experiences and opinions of seniors. I hope it will help you a bit to have a fruitful and enjoyable school life.
The restaurants I would like to introduce are as follows: Andamiro, Yungane, Budaetongryeong, FIB, and more. Let’s go see the details of these eateries!
Andamiro
Andamiro is located inside the school, in the M Building. It is run by Sangmyung University’s Department of Food and Nutrition and operates a restaurant and café together. It is meaningful in that students can participate in menu planning, sales, and management, and learn practical skills. Sundae Ramyeon is the most famous dish served in the restaurant and Sangmyung students also highly recommended scones among the café menus. “Andamiro’s scones are very sweet and soft, they’re really delicious,” said Subin and Chaewon, students at Sangmyung University. It also serves various kinds of menu items such as Korean foods, carb snacks and Japanese foods. Please note that ramen vending machines and multi vending machines are also located in Andamiro.

Yungane
Yungane is located in the restaurant area of the school hill. It is a basic local restaurant and sells a variety of Korean dishes or carb snacks. According to the Sangmyung students, Kimchi roe rice and rabokki are the most delicious dishes in Yungane.

Budaetongryeong
Budaetongryeong is also located in the school hill, at the basement floor of Yungane. It sells various Korean earthen pot menus such as budae-jjigae, stir-fried spicy pork, cheese chicken ribs, kimchi-jjigae, and soft tofu-jjigae. You can enjoy food at a very low price of about 6,000 won, and rice is also available unlimitedly. It is the most cost-effective restaurant around the campus.

FIB
FIB is also located on the other side of the hill. It was originally a bongousse rice burger restaurant, but it changed last year. The name of the restaurant stands for “Fire in the Bowl,” which sells barbecue foods. Barbecue rice burgers are popular as it is run by the former rice burger restaurant owner, and other rice bowls are also delicious.
In addition to the four restaurants above, an instant tteokbokki restaurant named Red Stairs was also recommended by many students. Sangmyung student Yoona said that budae-jjigae of Red Stairs is very delicious. The newly opened Riddoriddo’s Mexican burrito is also considered delicious. If you want to eat Japanese food, Arigatomamma’s ramen would also be great.
Among the cafes, Bluepot is on B1 of building R, and its hotdogs are famous among students. Bagels are famous in Café Dream, which is located in the Central Faculty Building (S) in front of the bus stop. Another café Fruitier is located at the bottom of the hill and its cake is really delicious, so you should visit and try it! I hope this information will be useful to you.
