본 과목은 임베디드시스템, IoT 시스템, 웨어러블 시스템, 로봇 시스템 등의 구현에 필수적으로 사용되는 실시간 커널을 설계하고 구현하는 기술을 다룬다. 본 과목에서 배우는 기술적인 사항은 다음과 같다. 실시간성의 개념, 쓰래드 관리, 시간 관리, 신호 관리, 타이머 관리, 세마포 및 뮤텍스 관리, 메모리 관리 등이다.
