본 강좌는 북미사회의 계층이동과 지리적 이동의 연관성을 파악하고 북미사회문제의 공간적인 접근을 통해서 사회의 발전문제를 다룬다. 본 과목은 북미사회의 인종, 젠더, 의식주에 대한 다양한 이슈를 사회지리학적인 관점에서 탐구하여 보다 거시적으로 북미사회에 대한 안목을 기를 수 있는 기회를 제공한다.
교과목해설(영문)
This course aims to explore the dialectical relationship between society and space by examining the spatial organization of societal structures and the influence of special interest groups on economic as well as geographical development. This course provides an opportunity to develop a more macroscopic perspective on North American society by exploring various issues related to race, gender, food, and shelter in North American society from a social geographic perspective.
