공연예술에서 무대미술과 디자인은 어떤 역할을 하는가? 이를 위해서는 역사적으로 공연예술의 진화과정에서 무대의 다양한 유형과 변천과정, 역할을 이해해야 하고, 무대미술의 주요 영역과 범위, 작업과정을 학습해야 한다. 「공연예술과 무대디자인」은 공연예술에서 무대의 역사, 무대디자인의 역할을 고찰하고, 실제적인 무대미술 프로세스, 즉 세트, 의상, 조명, 소품, 분장, 공간연출, 특수효과 등을 이해하는 교과목이다. 무대공간의 조형논리와 표현방법, 표현기술 등 기초개념들을 이해하고, 공연콘텐츠 플롯의 분석과 해석을 토대로 구상된 디자인을 무대에 구현시키는 과정과 창의적인 표현기법을 이해한다. 디자인 진행과정, 디자인 역할에 따라 작업과정과 협업의 무대디자인 프로세스를 다양한 공연예술의 사례를 토대로 분석하고, 창의적인 무대디자인 프로세스를 계획하고, 제시하는 방식을 토론과 실습을 통해 학습해 본다.

What role does stage art and design play in performing arts? To this end, we must understand the various types, transformations and roles of the stage in the evolution of performing arts, and learn the major areas, scope and work process of stage art. "Performance art and stage design" is a subject that examines the history of the stage in performing arts, the role of stage design, and understands the actual stage art process: sets, costumes, lighting, props, makeup, space production and special effects. Understand basic concepts such as formative logic, expression methods, and expression techniques in the stage space, and the process of implementing the envisioned design on the stage based on the analysis and interpretation of the performance content plot and the creative expression technique. Based on the design process and design role, the stage design process of work process and collaboration is analyzed based on various examples of performing arts, and the method of planning and presenting creative stage design process is learned through discussion and practice.
