본 과목은 인간이 시시각각 변화하는 다양한 환경 스트레스에 적응해나가는 항상성 개념에 중점을 둔다. 구체적으로, 분자에서 개체 수준에 걸쳐 신경계, 내분비계, 순환계, 호흡계, 소화계, 체액 조절, 체온 조절 그리고 생식계 등의 기능과 조절 원리에 대해 학습한다. 또한 현재 활발히 이루어지고 있는 생리학의 의학, 약학, 생명공학 등으로의 응용에 대해 소개한다.
교과목해설(영문)
This course primarily focuses on the physiological adaptations of human to various environmental stresses, a concept known to 'homeostasis'. Students will learn the basic principles underlying such physiological systems, from the molecular to the organism level, as the nervous system, endocrine systems, cardiovascular systems, respiratory systems, digestive systems, fluid balance, body temperature regulation, and reproductive system. Secondly, current applications of human physiology in medical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological fields will be introduced.
